About this tool
Fix sideways or upside-down sheets in seconds. Turn the whole document or just the ones that need it by 90°, 180° or 270°, then download the corrected copy.
How to use it
- Upload your PDF.
- Choose everything, or type the numbers that need turning (for example
2,5). - Pick the angle and run the tool.
Which angle do I need?
- 90° – a quarter turn clockwise, for sheets lying on their left side.
- 180° – a half turn, for anything upside down.
- 270° – three quarters clockwise (a quarter turn anticlockwise), for sheets lying on their right side.

Good to know
Turning changes orientation only — content is not resized or edited. If you choose the wrong angle, simply run the tool again on the result. Locked or damaged uploads may need to be unlocked or repaired first, and files are deleted from our server shortly after processing.
A worked example
A contractor scans a 12-sheet building plan. Sheets 3 and 8 are wide drawings that came out lying on their side. Entering 3,8 with a 90° turn fixes just those two, while the rest of the document stays upright.
Working out the right angle
- Text reads from bottom to top? Choose 90°.
- Text is upside down? Choose 180°.
- Text reads from top to bottom? Choose 270°.
Not sure? Try 90° on one sheet first, check the result, and adjust.
Why viewers sometimes look fine
Some apps auto-rotate sideways sheets when you open them, so a problem may only appear when someone else opens the file or prints it. Fixing the orientation in the document itself makes it display correctly everywhere.
Good habits
- Fix orientation before merging documents, so you do not have to hunt for sheets later.
- Check landscape charts and tables after converting from Word or Excel.
- Keep your original until you have checked the corrected copy.

Step by step: fixing a mixed scan
- Open the scan and note which sheets are sideways or upside down.
- Group them by the angle they need.
- Run the tool once for each group, using the output of the previous run as the next input.
- Check the final file from start to finish.
Preventing the problem
Most scanner apps have an auto-rotate option based on text direction. Turning it on, and placing sheets the same way up in the feeder, saves time later.
