About this tool
Put the sheets of a document into the order you actually want. Type the new sequence, run the tool and download a rearranged copy — the content of each sheet stays exactly the same.
How to use it
- Upload your PDF.
- Enter every number in the new order, for example
3,1,5,2,4. - Run the tool and the reordered file downloads automatically.
An example
A five-sheet file normally reads 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5. Entering 3,1,5,2,4 produces a copy that opens on the third sheet, followed by the first, fifth, second and fourth.
When it helps
- Fixing a stack that went through the scanner in the wrong order
- Moving a summary or cover sheet to the front
- Preparing a handout so it prints in reading order
- Grouping related sections of a contract or report together
Organize vs merge
Organizing changes the sequence inside one document. To join several separate files, use Merge PDF, which also lets you choose their order.
Good to know
Check the sequence carefully before running the tool, and keep your original in case you want the old order back. Locked or damaged uploads may need to be unlocked or repaired first. Files are deleted from our server shortly after processing.
A worked example
A teacher scans a double-sided worksheet, but the scanner fed all the front sides first and all the back sides afterwards: 1, 3, 5, 2, 4, 6. Typing the order 1,4,2,5,3,6 puts each front next to its back again.
Writing the new order
- Include every number once — the tool needs the complete sequence.
- Separate numbers with commas, without spaces or ranges.
- Check the total count in your viewer first, so no sheet is forgotten.
Handy patterns
- Move the last sheet to the front: for a five-sheet file,
5,1,2,3,4. - Reverse everything:
5,4,3,2,1. - Swap two sheets:
1,3,2,4,5.
When to combine with other tools
If you also need to delete sheets, use Remove Pages first and then reorder the result. To insert sheets from another document, merge the files with Merge PDF and then fix the sequence here.
Troubleshooting
If the tool reports an invalid order, a number is missing, repeated or larger than the total. Locked documents must be unlocked first.
